HAVE BOW WILL TRAVEL SHOW in
sunny Florida!
Howdy, the 2007 "HAVE BOW WILL
TRAVEL" tour is back in full swing. This past weekend I was back in
Lakeland, Florida for five great exhibitions at the Central Florida
Big Buck Expo. We filmed several of the shows with professional
equipment for a DVD that we'll have out later this year and also
filmed some footage for YOUTUBE. The three baby aspirin shot is
pretty popular and has lots of folks talking about our show!
This was my
third appearance at a 2007 Southern Trophy Hunter's "Big Buck
Expo." I also did shows at their Mobile, Alabama event and
their Jacksonville, Florida Expo. I especially enjoyed having two
special guests in Lakeland, Gary & Carol Symonds.
Gary is the engineer for Mathews and worked for Fred Bear for 20
years. He is brilliant and I enjoyed spending some time with Gary and
Carol. Guys like Gary, the late Earl Hoyt, and Tom Jennings have
always fascinated me with their knowledge of the technical side of our
sport. I enjoyed seeing Gary's mind trying to figure out my six
arrow shot! The three baby aspirin with three arrows also gave his
mind something to ponder! I was glad to have some time to
visit with Gary & Carol in between shows.
Southern Trophy Hunters feature
lots of entertainment at their shows. They have something for
everyone from Manny Puig the Shark Man (as seen on MTV, etc.), Lee &
Tiffany Lakosky from the TV show "Gettin' Close", Jon & Gina Brunson,
Stan Potts, Eddie Salter, and Larry Weishun, the Muzzy 200 club, and
other features. Another popular attraction is the Bob Bob &
Jimmy comedy and music act. Oh yeah, and there's the aspirin shooting
guy from West Virginia not to mention the large floor full of
exhibits! I even ran into world champion archer Joella
Bates--- who was one of the only women I know to take a cape
buffalo with her bow.
Special thanks to Jay & David &
their families & staff for the great treatment. Lee, Ryan and Sky
just to name a few made the shows easier and much smoother. These are
great folks and always good to work with.
I'll be back on stage at their
2008 events--- see you there! For more info on their shows, please

Glenn St. Charles Arrow Added to
Collection
I'd like to personally thank
the great Glenn St. Charles for recently sending a signed arrow to be
added to my collection. Besides founding the Pope & Young club,
hanging out with Fred Bear, and hunting all over North America Glenn
is one of the greatest living legends of the sport. Opinionated and
outspoken, Glann's been there & done that.
I was happy Glenn & his son
were at my show at the Pope & Young convention back in April. I'd also
like to thank my friend Diane Miller for her help in getting the arrow
and a signed copy of Glenn's book for my son Gus. Someday he will
appreciate the history and legends of the signed arrows and books I
will leave him.
These arrows are quiet
reminders of friends from a lifetime in the sport of archery. Rich
Walton & I hope to have an interview with Glenn thanks to Diane's
help soon on Bowhunting.net.
ARCHERY IN THE SCHOOLS
My father opened his indoor
range this week for the West Virginia DNR and teachers from across the
state to become certified to teach the National Archery in the Schools
course. This is an exciting program and continues to grow. Two TV
stations were on hand to capture the program and we appreciate the
media covering this event.
Pop was ahead of his time,
in the 1980's he paid an assistant and I to go into most of the
schools in the three surrounding counties to promote archery & the SAY
NO program, knowing that if archery grew his business would grow and
the kids would have a lifetime sport. I applaud the folks at Mathews
for their vision and determination to make this a national and now
international program!
I also appreciate the
efforts the West Virginia DNR and the teachers are putting forth to
help grow this great sport. Well done folks!
The Latest
Coming up I'll be headed to
Kansas City, MO, Florence, South Carolina, Springfield, Illinois,
and London, Kentucky for shows. Later this Fall I'll be on stage
here in my home state of West Virginia at a new show they are having

Drop an email, I always
enjoy hearing from folks.
