    2008 goes out in a roar
The wind is howling as I bang out these words. It seems 2008 is determined to go out with a roar. As we all prepare for a New Year, I wanted to send out our last newsletter for 2008.

We did shows coast to coast again in 2008. I met a lot of great folks again on the road. One of the highlights for me was at a show I did at the Olathe, Kansas Bass Pro Shop. There I met Tom and Virginia McGhee, a couple that enjoys archery. The cool thing is that Virginia didn't take up archery until she was 72 years old! Now 83, she loves to shoot 3-D archery with Tom. It's meeting folks like that make what I do a blast!

I also wanted to thank "Bubba the Love Sponge" and his crew at the Bubba the Love Sponge show in Tampa, Florida. Although he's been labeled a "shock jock", Bubba and staff treated us first class and my assistant Eli and I had a great time doing two shows at their studio. Eli did some great throwing and I hit three single baby aspirin in a row for them at this appearance. In addition to a listener base of more than 7 million, the staff also photographed and videoed the show. I hope to get back next year and visit with Bubba and the crew.

I'd like to thank all the promoters and shows that booked the ASPIRINBUSTER show in 2008. From California to three appearances in Florida we were coast to coast again. After so long on the road (24 years next year!) I am glad the shows are still drawing folks in and getting media attention.

In 2009 we'll be coast to coast again. After the ATA Show I'll head west for our first show at the GREAT ROCKIES SHOW in Billings, Montana. I'll also be at the Kalispell, Montana and Great Falls, Montana Great Rockies Shows. Watch for us in March in Denver, CO at the Colorado RV, Sports, Boat and Travel Show at the National Western Complex. Watch future issues for more on our 2009 appearances/schedule.

When I'm not on the road I've been able to enjoy time with my wife Amanda and son Gus. Gus, who's two, shot and popped two balloons recently with his bow for Bowhunting.net's Robert Hoague. Hoague was in visiting between bowhunts and while filming Pop and I at Addington's Bowhunter Shop was also able to video Gus shooting his bow. Although I help him, Gus loves to shoot. I just finished an intro for Ted Nugent's "A Million Arrows", a new book he'll release in 2009. In addition to rock and roll star, bowhunter, second amendment warrior, and friend he can now add "Best Selling Author" to his resume. Nothing Nuge does would surprise me.

I want to wish all of my bowhunting friends, from Dick & Carol Mauch up in Nebraska to Chuck Adams in Wyoming to Doc Strickland in Alabama, Theo Nugent in Texas, Dave Milam and Tony Dukes in Texas, Butch Thompson in South Texas, Gary Bogner in Michigan, and all of the rest a HAPPY NEW YEAR. I hope all of you reading this have the best year ever in 2009. Amanda, Gus and I send our best wishes from West Virginia.
