SEEING IS BELIEVING!

July 2007

STRAIGHT SHOT
                    with Frank Addington, Jr.

Southern Trophy Hunter's Lakeland Big Buck Expo

The Lakeland Center was full of sportsmen and their families July 11-13, 2008 when the Southern Trophy Hunter's Lakeland Big Buck Expo was in town.  Crowded show isles, lots of features and seminars, and lots of exhibits could be found at this popular southern sports show.

Frank Addington, Jr. (aka "the Aspirin Buster) was there with his 2008 "HAVE BOW WILL TRAVEL" archery exhibitions.  Addington did shows all three days of the event and enjoyed good crowds.   "Jay and the crew gave me a great sidekick for the shows... Eli is a great assistant and he can really throw targets!  We ended up doing a total of six first shot shows on the baby aspirin during the three days.  At the Bubba show I hit three single pills in a row one at a time without a miss...  I owe a lot to Eli's throwing!" Addington said.

Addington has not traveled with a regular assistant since the late 1990's.  This makes aspirin shooting a little more challenging since you never know what type of thrower you'll have until the show begins.

Many of the folks in the audiences had heard Frank prior to the event on the popular Tampa "Bubba the Love Sponge" radio show or Bubba's national radio show on satellite radio.  When asked about 60% of the audiences had heard the interview.  When you consider that more than 10 million people listen to Bubba's two shows, that's a lot of folks!

After Addington's shows he let Bubba and some of the staff try archery for the first time. This was broadcast on air, photographed and videoed.  Click here to see photos. Addington credits his hero Fred Bear for his ability to get on mainstream media with his archery skills.  "You know, really, Fred was a pioneer in many ways.  He may not have had satellite radio or the internet but he did take cameras, reporters and even Hollywood stars bowhunting.  When you see me on CNN or see me giving someone like Toby Keith or George Strait a bow, I learned all that from Fred. He was my hero in may ways.."

Addington ran into Travis "T-Bone" Turner from Realtree Roadtrips at the show, he was there taking part in the Muzzy hunting camp.  He's always smiling and always talking hunting and his enthusiasm for the outdoors is contagious

The Southern Trophy Hunter's Big Buck Expos are becoming very well known for their ability to bring in some of the top names in the industry and providing top shelf shows.  They work hard to get good exhibitors and good seminars that will entertain, educate and promote the outdoors.  "I see lots of families at their shows... and that's a testimony to Jay & the STH crew's desire to provide family entertainment that promotes hunting and the outdoors to the next generation.  Visit their website and learn more about their shows..."  Addington stated.      Visit their website at:  www.southerntrophyhunters.com
